USA Painted Hills Overlook

Painted Hills is a unique spot in Central Oregon. As it is away from the typical tourist route, it is not visited by a lot of people and lodging nearby is also limited. It is a terrific spot to visit in summer to photograph the colorful hills and wildflowers.

Photography Tips

Lots of options from a wide angle to long telephoto. I have shot images here from 16mm to 400mm. Best times to visit are at sunrise and at sunset.

Travel Information

By car only. You will find ample parking. No serious hiking either - just a stroll.
