USA Stewarts Point, Lake Mead, Nevada

Stewarts Point is on Lake Mead, the lake that supplies the Hoover Dam. A spot for fishing and water sports. The area is very desert-like, with only a few houses on the point.

In Lake Mead, the Colorado River, coming from the Grand Canyon, is dammed. The lake is intended to provide drinking water for Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as well as water for agriculture. It is intended to supply Las Vegas with electricity and serve as a leisure area for the population. For this purpose, it is surrounded by the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. However, for years, there has been less rainfall than the water required. The water level is dropping, the lake is getting smaller, and the shore areas are larger.

Located about 20 minutes from Overton.

At the northern offshoot of the lake, the Overton Arm, there is a huge camping area on Stewarts Point Road (Road 103). Dispersed camping is permitted for up to 15 days. Apart from the entrance fee for the National Recreation Area, there is no other charge. And there is a lot of use of these marvellous spots in the desert by the water.
