USA Waipi’o Valley
A lush tropical valley located near the northeastern coast of Big Island, Hawaii, was once home to Hawaiian kings but is now mostly wilderness and only inhabited by a couple dozen locals.
Photography Tips
The narrow Waipiʻo Valley Road is closed to non-residents, so the only way to photograph from the valley floor is to travel there via a tour company. You can still photograph the valley from a viewpoint high above the valley.
