USA Beaver Meadows – Sunrise Overlook
This overlook in Beaver Meadows offers one of the best panoramic views of the Front Range and Longs Peak. The early morning light paints the peaks in warm hues while the rolling meadows below glow with fresh greens and wildflowers in late spring and summer.
Photography Tips
This spot works beautifully for both sunrise and sunset, as the sun paints the Front Range with warm alpenglow in the morning and casts golden light across the landscape in the evening. Use a wide or mid-range lens to capture the layers of the meadow leading into the mountains. A tripod helps with sharpness and composition during low light, and a polarizer can enhance the sky and reduce atmospheric haze.
Travel Information
Easily accessed via Bear Lake Road or the Beaver Meadows entrance station. There are several scenic pullouts and small gravel turnouts that offer this view with no hiking required. Arrive early for the best light and minimal traffic.
