USA Port of Homer
The Port of Homer is situated at the tip of Homer Spit, a narrow spit of land created by earthquakes. It stretches far beyond Homer into Kachemak Bay. This is the end of the North American road system. In summer, the sheltered small boat harbour is packed, although there are probably a lot of boats on the water. Homer calls itself the halibut capital of the world. Next to the harbour is one RV (recreational vehicle) park after another. On a lantern, a bald eagle watches the goings-on in the harbour.
