At kilometre 280, Coldfoot is reached, the most important supply station on the Dalton Highway. North of it the Dalton Highway approaches the Brooks Range. The boreal forest becomes sparser here and soon you are surrounded by tundra.

Travel Information

At Coldfoot you can fill up with fresh water and expensive diesel. This is the first time of mobile internet on the route. At the joint visitor centre of the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, valuable tips for the rest of the way to the far north are availeble.
