"The Vessel" refers to the public landmark and interactive artwork in Hudson Yards on Manhattan's West Side, designed by Thomas Heatherwick and Heatherwick Studio. The structure, an intricate network of 154 interconnecting stairways, allows visitors to climb to various viewpoints and experience panoramic views of the city and the Hudson River. After a temporary closure due to suicides, it reopened in 2024 with floor-to-ceiling mesh safety measures on its upper levels.
