USA Saugerties Lighthouse
The Hudson River is known from New York City. Far to the north, it practically forms a long lake over many kilometres. The river is used as a waterway, which is why there are a few lighthouses in the wide area. One of them, Saugerties Lighthouse, also stands in the river, but can be reached on foot via a headland.
The clinker brick building with corners and gables looks like a moated castle.

Travel Information
There is a path from the car park to the lighthouse. The path leads through a jungle-like marsh, in parts as a wooden plank path. If a large ship passes by, the bow wave submerges part of the path. At the end of the path, a small bridge leads to the mini-island on which the lighthouse stands.
