USA Arch Rock & East Coast, Mackinac Island

Out of town there is just one street that leads around the island. Here it is super peaceful and quiet. You can enjoy the island without any hectic.

The famous Arch rock is the most attractive formation on the island. The arch towers above the water and is more than fifty feet wide.

You need a special permit for this island. Please get it early before your stay and register yourself on the homepage of the island. There is a fee you need to pay.

In general: In the USA you need to get your drone license and finish the registration process.

You can walk / run around the island or rent a bicycle. To reach the arch you walk up some stairs.

You reach Mackinac Island by ferry from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, with boats running frequently throughout the day in season. Once you arrive, the island is completely car-free, so visitors get around by walking, biking, or taking a horse-drawn carriage. It gives the whole place a quiet, timeless atmosphere that you feel the moment you step off the boat.
