USA Horseblock Mountain Overlook
Just a bit lower than Mt. Cheaha and the state's highest point. Parking lot overview with fabulous Southern and Northern viewpoints from the mountain. Perfect for galaxy core southern views. Far less crowded than the higher Cheaha overlooks, and it doesn't close at sunset like the state park.
Photography Tips
Bathroom break first! Especially if you are there at night, there isn't anywhere short of a 15 min drive to reliably get to a bathroom.
Watch for traffic if you decide to cross the road for different viewpoints! The approach visibility for vehicles isn't great due to slope, curves, and trees.
Several other natural points in the area and at Cheaha State Park, so there are tons to make a day of it, ending at the overlook for sunset and night photography.
