The Salt Wells Basin basin, a salt lake at Highway 50, is flanked, so to speak, by a huge dune, Sand Mountain. Part of this unusual dune is a playground for adults. They are allowed to ride ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) and OHVs (Off Highway Vehicles) in it.
