USA The Myakka Outpost
The Outpost is a place to get some food & snacks, use restrooms, and catch boat tours. There is a large parking lot that leads to the banks of Lake Myakka, the Prairie, an oak forest, and the south entrance of the Myakka River (great spot for alligators basking in the sun on the west bank).
Photography Tips
The early morning and late afternoon are the best times for wildlife shots.
Travel Information
There is a paved roadway to the parking area. The attractions can be reached by a short hike on marked trails.
