USA Stafford Falls
A very pleasant waterfalls along Chinook Creek just east of Mount Rainier. It involves a pleasant hike along the creek and also gives one a two-fer along with Deer Creek Falls.
Photography Tips
It is well shaded so bring your tripod and polarizer and stay well away from the edge so you don't fall in.
Travel Information
Travel east from Packwood along Highway 12; take a left along FR123. Travel 11 miles until you see the sign for "Owyhigh Lakes".
Park along the pullouts and hike down the trail, on the left side of the road, to the junction with the eastside trail and turn left (south).
Hike 1 mile until you cross the creek on a footbridge then another 1/2 mile until you hear the waterfalls and take a small footpath to the falls which will be on your left.
