You can hike and climb over moraines and smooth rocks up towards the glacier. The view over the glacial lake is magnificent. At a certain altitude, the meltwater has formed a pond. Passing snow slabs, we continued on to small waterfalls cascading down a rock face. You can see the ice amidst the black scree and a bluish ice edge in the distance.

Travel Information

The Worthington Glacier is situated on the Richardson Highway, on the north side of Thompson Pass. At the Worthington Glacier State Recreation Site, you can park for $5 and hike up to the glacier.
