USA National Day Parade at Homer
Alaska may be a long way from the other 49 US states, but on Independence Day it’s as American as it gets. Elements from Alaska and Homer are also represented in the parade. It’s great fun and lots of people get involved, either as participants in the procession or as interactive spectators. For the children, much like at the Rhineland carnival, there are sweets and other treats. These are thrown from the parade into the crowd or handed directly to the children.
