USA Main Street, Collinsville, Connecticut
Collinsville was built around the Collins Axe Factory. The historic district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are many interesting, late 19th and early 20th century buildings.

Wander the streets downtown first, but be sure to walk up the hill into some residential neighborhoods and to walk along the Farmington River.
Travel Information
If you drive through Farmington, it's a little less than 20 miles from Hartford, and you may find some interesting places to stop along the Farmington River along the way. You can also drive through Avon and Canton (about 15 miles), but you're less likely to find interesting places to stop for photography along the way.
