My name is Doru Nicu, I’m a self-taught professional photographer from Romania.
I started taking pictures when I bought my first camera in 2011 and tried to experiment different techniques that I found on Youtube. My educational background is Bachelors of Surveying and Topography engineering. I also have more than 6 years of videography experience but started seriously studying and pursuing photography in 2020.
Photography has been my best comfort and source of imagination since I was young. It made me appreciate more the environment I find myself in and I often pay attention to every detail, light, colours, shapes and dimensions. Landscape photography is at the core of my passion. I love capturing nature and stunning environments. I am addicted to colours and I often love giving my work a dreamy look.
I received the most impact and inspiration from a few mentors like Serge Ramelli, Scott Kelby and Thomas D. Mangelsen.
As a landscape and urban photographer I’m happy to say that I have accomplished a few things that I’m proud of:
– 1st place winner of CIEE photography contest “Enjoying the Great Outdoors” in U.S.A. in 2014.
– Two of my photographies were nominated in the touristic promotional album of Bucharest in 2016.
– I got my photographer diploma and a drone pilot license.
