Argentina Laguna del Caminante, Tierra del Fuego

Laguna del Caminante is a remote alpine lagoon near Ushuaia, reached via one of the most challenging and rewarding hikes in southern Patagonia. The trail leads through dense lenga forests, vast peat bogs, and over exposed mountain passes, offering constantly changing landscapes and a true wilderness experience.

Use some trees near the campsite for a bit more foreground that gives your image more depth.

Another good option is to get the sun in your picture. If you want to get it as a star close your aperture.

With a total distance of up to 25 km and demanding terrain, the hike is best suited for experienced trekkers and is often completed over two days with a campsite at the lagoon. Its untouched setting, dramatic scenery, and low visitor numbers make it a hidden gem for those seeking solitude at the end of the world.

At the laguna itself its allowed to camp there. Make sure you check the weather conditions before.
