Just behind the Laguna is a dead forest which looks unreal. Especially the water color here is way much more intense and worth to visit.

Laguna Esmeralda itself is a striking glacial lake located in the wilderness of Tierra del Fuego near Ushuaia. Surrounded by rugged peaks and lenga forests, the lake is known for its vivid emerald-green color, created by fine glacial sediments suspended in the water. The remote setting and pristine environment make it one of the most iconic natural highlights in the region.

Photography Tips

Use the river as a leading line from the left to the right side into your picture and than towards the mountains.

Travel Information

The hike to Laguna Esmeralda is a relatively easy to moderate trek of about 8–10 km round trip, typically taking 3 to 4 hours. The trail begins in a valley along the Sierra Alvear and passes through peat bogs, forests, and open landscapes, offering constant views of the surrounding mountains. While accessible for most hikers, sections can be muddy and wet, so proper footwear is recommended, especially after rain.

If you want to reach this spot you just need to add a few 100 meters more around the lake. Therefore I would recommend to go right site.
