Australia Coober Pedy Opal Field
This is one of the many opal fields located in the vicinity of Coober Pedy. It is about 40 km south on the east side of the highway.

Morning or evening light is best with lenses from moderately wide to moderately telephoto.
Travel Information
The only way to get here is by car. Travel 40 km south of Coober Pedy on the Stuart Highway. The highway is paved all the way to Adelaide. A regular car should be able to handle the dirt road that leads east to the field, approximately 1 km from the highway.
