This beautiful Building was opend in 1906 and is one of the most important examples of the "Jugendstil" Architecture in Vienna. It was planned by the famous Architect Otto Wagner. He did not only construct the building itself, but even the the decoration inside and the furniture and all the details. Until 2017 it was the headquarters of the Austrian Post Bank. We must be afraid that the new owner will destroy this beautiful enemble if it will be rebuilt to one more hotel ..... At the oposite of the buliding the ministry of defence is located. It was constructed nearly at the same time, but the court of the emperor didn't want to have such a "modern" buliding - so it was performed in the typical style of the "Ringstraße" that surrounds the city.
