The "Spiegelsee" is a popular photo spot in the Reiteralm region near Schladming in the Austrian Alps.
"Spiegelsee" is only the nickname. The real name of the lake is "Mittlerer Gasslsee".
The nickname comes from the fact that on windless days the Dachstein is reflected in the smooth water of the lake.

Photography Tips

Come early in the morning. Later in the day, there are many hikers and photographers.

Travel Information

From Pichl near Schladming you drive via a toll road to the Reiteralm at an altitude of about 2700m. From there you hike about an hour to the Spiegelsee. The path is marked.
