This small, unnamed mountain lake lies above the Montafon valley and is surrounded by alpine meadows. Without any prominent landmarks, the scene feels very quiet and minimal, which makes it ideal for clean landscape compositions.

Photography Tips

Instead of using a person, use the flowers around the lake as a foreground to add depth and structure. Shoot from a low angle so the flowers lead into the lake and towards the background. Simple compositions work best here – avoid clutter and let the natural layers do the work.

Travel Information

Parking is available in the village below. From there, take the mountain railway to reach the area. After exiting the station, it’s a short and easy walk to the lake.
