Late afternoon is especially recommended, when soft sunlight illuminates the larch trees and creates beautiful contrast against the darker mountain backdrop.
Taking one of the last cable cars up the mountain is a great way to capture this light, especially along the higher sections of the trail.
A wide-angle or standard zoom lens works particularly well here. Use the winding hiking paths as leading lines towards the impressive Kalkkögel mountains, and consider including a person to add scale and a sense of adventure.

Travel Information
The Naturlehrpfad is located in the Schlick 2000 hiking area above Fulpmes in the Stubai Valley. The easiest way to reach the upper sections is by taking the cable car to the Kreuzjoch mountain station.
From there, several hiking routes lead downhill through the beautiful Alpine landscape towards the valley.
Important: Taking one of the last cable cars uphill is a great way to photograph the softer afternoon light, but it also means that the cable cars may no longer be operating when you want to return.
In that case, you will need to hike all the way down to the valley, which takes several hours depending on your route and walking speed.
