Austria Mountain Reflections at Serlesbahnen reservoir
The mountain reservoir near the upper station of the Serlesbahnen cable car offers one of the most beautiful mountain reflections in Austria's Stubai Valley. Surrounded by forests and impressive Alpine peaks, the turquoise water creates a wonderful contrast with the rugged mountain scenery.
On calm days, the reservoir acts like a natural mirror, reflecting the surrounding trees, mountains, and clouds. Especially when sunlight breaks through the clouds, the changing light creates a particularly atmospheric landscape.

Photography Tips
A standard zoom lens, such as a 28–70mm, is ideal for capturing the mountain scenery together with its reflection in the reservoir. Positioning the shoreline near the center of the composition creates a beautiful symmetrical effect, especially when the water is calm.
Early afternoon can offer beautiful lighting, especially when sunlight breaks through the clouds and illuminates sections of the mountains and forest.
However, it's highly recommended to stay until later in the afternoon, as softer light can create even more atmospheric photos. A polarizing filter can also be useful, but avoid removing too much reflection from the water.

Travel Information
The mountain reservoir is located near the upper station of the Serlesbahnen cable car above Mieders in the Stubai Valley, approximately 20 minutes from Innsbruck.
The easiest way to get there is to take the Serlesbahnen cable car up to the Koppeneck mountain station. From there, the reservoir is just a short walk away, making it a very accessible photography location. Plan to spend extra time at the reservoir, as changing mountain weather can create beautiful lighting conditions throughout the afternoon.
Staying until late afternoon is particularly rewarding for photography, but check the official Serlesbahnen website for the last cable car departure.
Missing the final descent means hiking all the way back down to the valley, so allow enough time to return to the mountain station.
