Belgium Small pond at De Teut, Zonhoven

De Teut is part of the larger Teut-Tenhaagdoornheide area, covering over 1700 hectares heathland nature reserve, the largest in Central Limburg.

The landscape features:
- Rolling heathlands with blooming purple heather in late summer;
- Ponds, bogs, and wet heaths attracting dragonflies and amphibians;
- Forests, dunes, and grasslands;
- Sand drift zones with sparse pine trees.

From around the beginning of August to mid-September the heather is in full bloom (depending on the weather conditions).


You may apply for a permit to fly a drone in De Teut, but you must:

- Justify the purpose (e.g., scientific research, conservation, or media)
- Follow strict guidelines on drone type, flight altitude, duration, and frequency
- Submit an application to the Flemish government or local nature authority.

Take the E314 motorway and
Exit at Zonhoven and follow signs to Donderslagseweg, where the main entrance and parking areas for De Teut are located.

Alternative car parks are:
- the car park at the dog walking area Holsteenbron (which is closer to the spot as the main car park);
- the parking of restaurant Holsteenhoeve (is open).
