The grave of the cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro (August 13, 1926 – November 25, 2016) lies close to the entrance of the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in the outskirts of Santiago de Cuba. A fee of 3 CUCs (about 3 EURO) is due (January 2017). The grave is an impressive granite boulder. A ceremonial guard stands nearby.

Photography Tips

I found the place difficult to photograph, because it is hard to optically isolate the grave from its environment.

Travel Information

I took a taxi from the center of Santiago de Cuba and the driver waited on me, while I was roaming the cemetery.
