Czech Republic Head XXII
Next to the road between Lipnice and Dolní Město there is a monument to Jaroslav Hašek. It is an eighteen-ton head made of Lipnice granite, which was placed here by sculptor Radomír Dvořák. The monument was named Head XXII, after the famous anti-war novel by the American writer Joseph Heller. The Head XXII monument is 2.65 metres high and consists of eight parts, with the segments of the left eye and the diagonal part of the top of the head removed and lying apart. On the inner walls of the segments you will find a quotation from Hašek's most famous work The Fate of the Good Soldier Švejk in ten languages
