Czech Republic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Gothard

The tower of the Renaissance Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Gothard in Budišov in the Třebíč region is home to
the largest rotating weather vane in the Czech Republic (and the second largest in the world). The gilded copper weather vane from 1982 (a replica of the original from 1726) measures 4.2 m in height, 2.5 m in width, and weighs 440 kg.

Church:
It dates back to the 12th century (two Romanesque windows in the southern wall have been preserved). It was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 13th and 14th centuries. In 1722, a tower was added, the top of which is decorated with a massive gilded weather vane with the patron saints of the church (on one side, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, and on the other, St. Gothard with angels).
