Finland Lighthouse at Pulkkilanharju, Finland
Along the scenic Pulkkilanharju road in southern Finland, this small white lighthouse stands directly beside the road, surrounded by the beautiful waters of Lake Päijänne. Its distinctive shape makes it an interesting landmark along one of Finland's most picturesque driving routes.
The lighthouse, narrow road, rocky shoreline, and surrounding forests combine to create a fantastic composition for aerial photography. Especially during golden hour, warm sunlight creates beautiful contrast between the deep blue water and the illuminated landscape.

Photography Tips
For this shot, I used the 3.0x telephoto lens on my DJI Mavic 3 Pro to create a slightly compressed perspective, bringing the lighthouse, road, and surrounding landscape closer together.
Position the drone at an angle to the shoreline so the road acts as a strong diagonal leading line through the image. Adding a vehicle adds scale and creates a nice road-trip atmosphere.
Late afternoon and golden hour are ideal, as the low sunlight illuminates the lighthouse and treetops while creating beautiful shadows. Experiment with different angles and distances to find the best balance between the lighthouse, road, and surrounding water.

Travel Information
The lighthouse is located along the Pulkkilanharju scenic road (Route 314), near Asikkala in southern Finland, approximately 30 kilometers north of Lahti. The road crosses Lake Päijänne via narrow ridges, islands, and bridges, making it a great road trip destination.
The lighthouse is easily visible from the road, although you should use a designated parking area rather than stopping along the narrow roadside. The surrounding Pulkkilanharju area also offers several additional photography opportunities.
The best time to visit is late spring through early autumn, especially around sunset, when warm light creates beautiful contrasts. If photographing with a drone, check current airspace restrictions and maintain a safe distance from road traffic.
