France Tour Montparnasse
Tour Montparnasse might not be Paris’ prettiest building, but the view from the top is unbeatable. It’s one of the best places to see the Eiffel Tower in full, with sweeping views across the city skyline. The rooftop terrace and bar are perfect for a relaxed evening with a camera in one hand and a drink in the other. It’s especially magical at sunset or after dark when the city lights come alive.
Photography Tips
Arrive about 30–45 minutes before sunset to grab a good spot and capture golden hour into blue hour. A zoom lens works great for picking out city details, while a wide-angle is perfect for sweeping panoramas. A tripod isn’t allowed on the rooftop, but a mini one might pass. Watch out for reflections from the glass on the lower observation deck - the open-air roof is best for clean shots.
Travel Information
Take Metro line 4 or 6 to Montparnasse–Bienvenüe station - the tower is right there. It’s easy to access and well signposted. There’s underground parking nearby if you’re driving, but public transport is much easier in central Paris. The entrance to the observation deck is separate from the main office building, so look for signs for “Panoramic Observation Deck” or “56th Floor”.
