Its a good spot if you don't want to worry about the tide, probably there are better spots around the island but you have to keep in mind the tide.

Photography Tips
As you are on a bridge be aware the bridge is not so stable and once the people are moving around the bridge is vibrating, try to stay on the back of the bridge as this side is more stable. You will need a telephoto or mid-range lens, this photo was shot at 70 mm.
Travel Information
The spot is just behind a hotel that is the nearest to the island. This shot can be taken from the dam (Barrage du Mont Saint Michel) that is across the street from the Hotel Relais Saint Michel. You can easily walk here from one of the hotels if you are staying in the village La Caserne. If you are not staying in the town, you have to park at the parking lots just outside of town and catch the shuttle bus. The tram will make a stop at the dam before traveling out to the bridge.
