France La Coubre lighthouse

As the tallest lighthouse on the Charente coast, it is listed as a historic monument, and a museum there traces the history of lighthouses in the Gironde estuary.
The lighthouse is automated and managed from La Rochelle by the Lighthouse and Beacons Service, but it is no longer manned.
It is open to visitors from February to mid-November, as the La Tremblade town hall runs the visitor centre.
