Georgia Tsablnari Waterfall, Georgia

Tsablnari Waterfall is one of the highlights of Mtirala National Park and a perfect example of the incredibly lush landscapes found in this part of Adjara. Hidden deep within the subtropical forest, the waterfall drops between dense vegetation, moss-covered rocks, and towering trees. The secluded setting gives it an almost rainforest-like atmosphere, especially after rainfall when the surrounding forest becomes even more vibrant.
Also, a little side fact: This is one of the wettest locations in the entire country of Georgia!

Use the dense vegetation rather than trying to avoid it. Trees, branches, and leaves make excellent natural frames and emphasize the feeling of discovering a waterfall hidden deep in the forest. Including a person provides valuable scale and creates a stronger sense of adventure. A wide-angle lens works well close to the falls, while a slightly longer focal length can compress the scene and shoot through foreground vegetation. Soft, overcast light is ideal, and a polarizing filter can help control reflections on wet leaves and rocks.

Tsablnari Waterfall is reached via a hiking trail through Mtirala National Park. The walk takes you through dense subtropical forest, following a mix of forest paths, small bridges, and sections alongside the river before you reach the waterfall. Expect humid conditions and potentially muddy or slippery trails, particularly after rain. Good hiking shoes are highly recommended, and you should carry water and rain protection. Allow extra time for photography along the trail, as the forest itself is just as photogenic as the waterfall.
