Georgia Batumi promenade, Georgia
Batumi’s promenade around Ardagani Lake offers a completely different atmosphere from the waterfront just a few streets away. Tree-lined paths, landscaped gardens, and colorful flowers surround the lake, while Batumi’s modern architecture rises above the greenery in the background. It is a particularly pleasant part of the city for an evening walk and a great example of how surprisingly green Batumi can feel despite its rapidly growing skyline. It's also a great place to grab a cold drink or hot snack, sit down, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of a major city around you.
Photography Tips
Use a longer focal length here to compress the promenade and bring distant architectural details closer into the scene. The repeating street lamps create excellent leading lines, while trees and flowers can naturally frame the composition. Late-afternoon and early-evening light works especially well, illuminating the vegetation and buildings while creating more depth along the walkway. After photographing the paths, head directly to the edge of Ardagani Lake for reflections of Batumi’s modern skyline.
Travel Information
Ardagani Lake is located in Batumi’s newer part of the city, only a short walk from the Black Sea promenade. A network of pedestrian paths makes it easy to combine the lake, surrounding gardens, and nearby waterfront in one walk. The area is especially lively towards the evening and is also known for the Dancing Fountains on the lake, making sunset and blue hour a particularly good time to visit.
