at the former harbour of Wischhafen at the Elbe river you can find a small but very interesting museum , showing all aspects of coastal shipping from former times up to modern feeder ships. The coastal ship "Iris-Jörg" in the old harbour is part of the museum. There are several more old ships.

Unfortunately it is forbidden to take photos inside the museum, but outside it's no problem.

Travel Information

There are enough places for your car. If you come from Schleswig-Holstein you can take the ferry boat from Glückstadt to Wischhafen to cross the Elbe river.
