The crowning glory of the Ruhpolding church buildings and landmarks in the Weißen Traun valley is the parish church of St. George. Their Romanesque and Gothic precursors stood high up in the mountain cemetery, peacefully surrounded by the graves of mountain farmers. The construction of St. Georg began in 1738.
