Germany Cologne Cathedral from north of Hohenzollern Bridge

Usually you see images from the Cologne Cathedral from the left side of the Hohenzollern Bridge. This spot is right on the other side down at the Rhine river, which gives you even better reflections and some more parts like stones and chains in the foreground.
Especially the lasershow event, which took place during the Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, was a great way to get a very special photo of this scene, where some spotlights were added to the cathedral and the Musical Dome was turned off.

As always it's quite important that you take multiple shots and create one final result by using luminosity masks or other "HDR" techniques to make sure that the lights aren't too bright. Especially the musical dome is usually very bright with the blue colors. I was pretty lucky with my shot since the lights of the dome were off due to the lasershow for the Gamescom event.
Another part you should pay attention to are the trains that are passing the bridge. Expose your shot while they are passing and you get some nice light trails on top of these really beautiful reflections in the river.

Parking is available right beside the spot and marked on the map. Especially during the evening the parking at this side of the Rhine in Cologne shouldn't be an issue, because the big TV channel RTL is nearby and offers a lot of parking space when the employees finished their work day.
It's not that easy to get down there though, because this area isn't a free public space. That's another reason, why shooting this photo spot during blue hour / night time is probably the best decision.
