The Großes Holz slag heap is located in Bergkamen. The city's symbol, a blue ribbon, has been artistically recreated here. Blue lighthouses cover the mountain, and numerous blue-flowering plants are planted on the slag heap.

The Adener Höhe rises high above the region and offers breathtakingly beautiful views. On the Adener Höhe, there is a 30-meter-high stele that is illuminated at night.

Travel Information

Halden Großes Holz in Bergkamen is easy to reach. You can drive via the A2 motorway and park at the western access on Waldstraße or the Erich‑Ollenhauer‑Straße lot. Public transport users can take a train to Kamen and then bus R12 to the “Erich‑Ollenhauer‑Straße” stop, from which it's a short walk uphill to the summit.
