Germany Ruins of St. Stephen's Monastery, Heidelberg
At the top of Heiligenberg, one of Heidelberg's most iconic hills, lie the ruins of St. Stephen's Monastery (Stephanskloster), founded in the 11th century. Today, only stone walls and a reconstructed lookout tower remain, offering views of the surrounding forest and the city of Heidelberg in the distance.
This is a place steeped in history, peaceful, and much less crowded than the famous Heidelberg Castle, ideal for photographing ruined architecture and atmospheric scenes amidst nature.
