Located south of the Luther School, this three-story plaster building has 22 window axes and a symmetrically structured façade with red sandstone elements in the style of the German Renaissance. The former civic school is one of six schools built in the northern part of the city between 1890 and 1903. The building, which is now used by the university, was constructed by the city in 1896/98
