Germany Blue hour in Erfurt
The Krämerbrücke is one of Erfurt's most famous landmarks and one of Europe's few remaining medieval bridges lined with inhabited buildings. Its colorful half-timbered houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and charming surroundings make this part of Erfurt particularly photogenic.
This perspective captures one of the picturesque streets leading toward the Krämerbrücke, with its historic architecture, illuminated windows, and warm streetlights creating a wonderful blue-hour atmosphere. It's one of my favorite times to explore Erfurt's Old Town, when the streets become quieter and the historic buildings really come to life.

Photography Tips
Blue hour is perfect for this location, as the deep blue sky contrasts beautifully with the warm lights illuminating the buildings and cobblestone streets.
I particularly like using the curved street as a leading line towards the half-timbered houses on the Krämerbrücke. A standard zoom lens works well here, allowing you to capture the architecture without introducing too much distortion.
Try photographing shortly after sunset, when there's still enough ambient light to preserve details in the buildings. Slightly underexposing can help preserve the atmospheric mood and keep the streetlights from blowing out.

Travel Information
The Krämerbrücke sits in the heart of Erfurt's historic Old Town and is easily reached on foot from the city center, including Fischmarkt and Wenigemarkt.
The surrounding streets are pedestrian-friendly and full of beautiful historic architecture, small shops, cafés, and restaurants. I recommend exploring the whole neighborhood rather than focusing only on the bridge itself, as some of the most interesting compositions are in the smaller side streets.
For photography, visit around sunset and stay until blue hour. The area is especially atmospheric in the evening, when the illuminated buildings and quieter streets create excellent conditions for architectural and street photography.
