Kranhäuser, Cologne Germany

The Kranhäuser (engl. "crane houses") in the Rheinauhafen of Cologne are 3 pretty modern buildings, which where built in 2011 and look like an upside-down "L". They can add a lot to your photos, but in my opinion it's pretty difficult to capture them in a way they look good, because these buildings are interesting, but they are not extremely beautiful.
My favorite spot to shoot them is at Severinsbridge. I just love all these contrasts between yellow - blue, modern - old, clean - dirty etc. So this is maybe one of my most favorite spots in Cologne, which isn't that well known.
Thank you very much for your suggested change. We will check it as soon as possible and update this spot.

Travel information

These is a big parking place beyond Severinsbridge, which is pretty cheap (4 € for a day) and you don't have to pay after 18 o'clock. You can also get there by train, because the streetcar is also using that bridge and holding nearby that spot.

Nice spot Manuel, went there last friday. I would recommend this spot to anyone who is in the area. Truly something different to the standard Cathedrale and crane houses spots. Besides the post processing is awesome too, i like the little more cold atmosphere.

Yeah, your photo looks a little bit more natural than mine does, but as always it depends very much on taste etc. in details like that. Definitely a great spot in Cologne, that's not the Cathedral!! :)

Hi Manuel, sehr gelungenes Bild. Dennoch super Bild.. Gruß Pari

Vielen lieben Dank Pari! Also selbstverständlich nur falls du Interesse hast! :)
