Greenland Jyttes Havn in Bear Islands, Scoresbysund

Jyttes Havn is a quiet and sheltered anchorage tucked away among the Bear Islands in Scoresbysund. Surrounded by steep mountains, rocky shores and the vast Arctic landscape, it feels completely isolated from the outside world. It’s a beautiful place to slow down, explore the coastline and take in the raw wilderness of East Greenland.

Use a long lens to compress the mountains and glaciers, while adding a strong sense of scale by including the sailing boat or a person in the frame. Keep an unsharp foreground element, such as part of the boat, to create depth and make the image feel more immersive and dynamic.

Scoresbysund is one of the most remote places you can reach in Greenland. There are no roads or infrastructure here. The area is explored by sailing boat, smaller expedition vessel, kayak or multi-day guided kayak trips, with August to roughly mid-September being the best window to experience it. Just around 500 people coming per year.
