Greenland Sisimiut Old Center

The Old Center of Sisimiut is the historic heart of Greenland’s second-largest town, where colorful wooden buildings, the old church and former colonial structures tell the story of Sisimiut’s past. Nestled between the harbor and the mountains, it offers a glimpse into traditional Greenlandic life and is one of the most atmospheric parts of town.

A zoom to compress with the rest of the surroundings from quite some distance makes a good compressed photograph with the mountains.

The Old Center is within easy walking distance of Sisimiut’s harbor and town center. It is best explored on foot, allowing time to wander between the historic buildings, church and small museum. There is no entrance fee simply to walk through the historic area.
