This location was sunset although the clouds did not work too well the snow trails leading to the mountain made the photo

It was a hard place to soot as there was too much choice up and down the road.

This spot is located on private land with a toll to get in but definitely worth it

I haven’t been yet. Done tons of research and probably had far too many places on my wish list that I was trying to cram into two weeks anyway. Cancelled air reservations, car, and 14 hotel/B&Bs last week. We’ve already decided that when we reschedule, we’ll probably add a few more days and spread our itinerary a bit. Did a bus tour of Rome and the Amalfi Coast awhile back and loved it. Can’t imagine driving there. I think I’ll be comfortable driving in Iceland and prefer the flexibility of a self tour.

We found the south of the capital as the best for photography but as you have done a lot of homework you would know this. I found driving in Iceland not a problem and drive in most countries we visit. Enjoy when you are able to go. We were there March to catch the Northern Lights, we were successful on 1 night. Good luck

Was planning a trip to Iceland in September. Then Covid. Maybe next year. Different perspective of Vestrahorn than I’ve seen before. Makes me more excited about getting over there. Thanks.

Hi Gary I have been there twice the 2nd time on a photographic tour, which took us to all the right spots and the right time. Not sure if you do tours. I do not as a rule but though for this place it was well done. Good luck
