Iceland Katla Ice cave

This ice cave is small but on the rare that can be viewed during summer time. As with any Ice cave, you need to go with a glacier guide to ensure security with helmet, crampons but as well where it is safe to go or not. It is most likely that the position and state will change every year

Ultra wide angle works best here and bracketing fro HDR is also a must with light contrast as ice is dark full of ash

Travel Information

You can get there only by super-jeep (even if summer) and a guide. You can find Katla tour staring from Vik on the right side of N1 gas station when facing station
