This place is practical as close to Vik but away from city lights to watch Northern lights

Photography Tips

You of course need to check Iceland weather site to know if the sky will not be cloudy and intensity of Aurora before. The mountain can be an obstacle when the northern light is weak and low.
You need an ultra wide angle opening at 2.8 or more. start with exposure of 15s (max 30s) and go to 6s depending of intensity, start with iso 3200
