Iceland Skútustaðagígar
At Skútustaðir on the south bank of lake Mývatn, a riding tournament on a frozen part of the lake takes place in March under the title "Hestar á ís" (horses on ice). Obviously, time is ridden, not directly against each other. The beautiful horses run in the fascinating gait of Tölt, coped only by Iceland horses. It lets the long manes fly like in a storm. The horses are mostly ridden by young women.
