Black dunes on the Stokknes headland on Iceland's southeast coast. Beautiful mountains, flat sea, definitely worth the money worth to visit.

Photography Tips

You should bring a wide-angle lens or maximum a of 35mm a tripod and ND filters are good options to take some more creative shots. Sunrise is good, but all times are magical.

There's parking but you should pay a small price, but it's worth it.

Curious about the "flat" sea. Is the water actually still (like is the tide out)?

Hey Peter, could you please check the marker for this spot? I am 99% sure that it's not correct but didn't want to move it myself in case I am wrong. I would say you have been south of Vestrahorn because that's the very typical perspective from this place. Keep in mind that others are bookmarking these spots and they might get lost in Iceland because they are searching your spot ;-)
